Why hello strangers!! :) It has been a while...but we are BACK!

I realize I have been a "bad blogger" recently...as told by a few friends! Our lives have been unbelievably crazy and there have been so many changes, I just haven't found much time to sit down and update you all on the lives of the Burnett's!

So, here we go...since the last post...and this isn't even everything....but it is most...
* Eric & Lauren's Couple's Shower - Aug. 23 *

Morgan, Chris and I threw the soon-to-be Hughes' a couples shower! We had so much fun and Lauren & Eric got so many fun things. We had them play a few games that we all enjoyed! :)The bride-to-be with the hostesses.

* Lauren's Bachelorette Party - August 28 *
I had a wonderful time at Lauren's bachelorette party in Dallas...we took tons of pictures so a few are below!

* Cross Canadian Ragweed Red Dirt Roundup - August 31 *
We went to the concert with the Martin's, Shea and a few others and had so much fun enjoying the beautiful weather and listening to some great music. We saw some FUNNY and WEIRD things though...but it made the day even more memorable! haha

* American Cancer Society Relay For Life Summit - September 13 *
I went on a trip to Dallas with work for the weekend. At the Summit, we learn all about the news ideas and things we will be promoting for this upcoming year's Relay season. Staff members and Relay volunteers from the Highplains Division (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Hawaii, Guam, and a few others that I can't remember right now) all come together and spend the weekend in a hotel in Dallas. I get paid to do this...how great!! :)

* A&M vs. Miami football game - September 20 *
Chris and I attended our 1st Aggie football game as alumni this weekend! It was so weird...and honestly, we didn't enjoy it that much. Sitting in the zone is something very strange to us. We found ourselves surrounded by an older group of people that sit down for the whole game and are incredibly boring. This was new to us when, for the last 4 years, we have stood for the whole game, in the student section, surrounded by people our age, that actually seem like they enjoy the game! Kelley & Kevin were sweet enough to let us stay with them for the weekend! We miss them so much so it was nice getting to spend some time with them in their new house...which is awesome!! :)

Chris, Kevin, Kyle & Corey at LaBodega after the game...

Kel and Me
* Wilken/Hughes Wedding - September 26 *
Lauren & Eric got hitched on Sept. 26th and everything was BEAUTIFUL! She made a stunning bride and Eric looked very handsome. The rehearsal dinner took place at the Wildwood Inn in Denton and was very nice! The morning of the wedding, Lauren treated all the girls to a day at the spa. We got massages & relaxed all day. The ceremony was held at the Village Church in Denton and Eric's brother, Beau, did a wonderful job officiating the wedding. The reception followed and took place at the Denton Country Club. Like I said...everything was beautiful! I am so proud of Lauren for planning such an amazing wedding! She did a great job. Eric & Lauren are definitely meant to be! They compliment each other in so many ways and are so happy in each other's arms.

* WE'VE MOVED!! - September 30 *
After spending the weekend in Dallas for Eric & Lauren's wedding, Chris and I made what would be our final trip back to Waco to pack up our things, paint the walls, and move back "home" to DFW! After putting much thought into, we felt that our prayers were finally being answered and had the perfect opportunity to move back. Long story short...we moved to Waco for Chris' job... quickly realized that Waco was not the place for us...decided we should stick it out and give it a try...didn't change our minds that Waco was not the place for us...I found an opportunity to transfer to the American Cancer Society office in Fort Worth...I applied for the job and got it...Chris quit his job and decided this would be the perfect time to pursue his dreams of becoming a high school teacher and football coach....so we made the move!! We are now back in Flower Mound, I am working for American Cancer Society and still loving what I do and Chris is substitute teaching and getting his teaching certificate...and happy as can be!

We decided to have fun while painting the walls back to their original color! :)

* Dallas Cattle Baron's Ball - October 4 *
Chris and I were able to attend the Dallas Cattle Baron's Ball put on by American Cancer Society this year. It is a big gala that raises money for ACS. Pat Green & Sugarland performed out at Southfork Ranch, free food & drinks and we got to dress up in our western wear! It was AMAZING!!!

*FMHS Senior Night football game - October 17 *
Max, Chris' younger brother plays football at Flower Mound High School (the same HS that Chris and I attended) and now that we are back home, we are able to see him play his last few high school football games. I can't not believe he is already a SENIOR!! Crazy...but hopefully he will follow in his brother & sister-in-law's footsteps and be an Aggie soon!! :)
Would you ever guess Max is Chris' YOUNGER brother?!? :) Chris is so proud of him! (so am I)
* Relay For Life of Limestone County - October 18 *
Even though I have transferred to Fort Worth, I offered to staff the Limestone County event so I didn't leave them right before their event! It was wonderful and everyone had so much fun! The Aggie Wranglers even came to perform! Chris and I left Flower Mound Saturday morning and then left the event at 4:00am on Sunday...we were exhausted to say the least when we got home.
Taken in the wee hours of the morning....
Told ya...the Aggie Wranglers were there!!!
* Mound Showdown - October 31 *
We attended the big rivalry game between Flower Mound HS & Marcus HS this weekend. This has been a big game since Chris and I were in HS, so it was very neat to be able to go to the game again. It was also neat watching the guys play at Texas Stadium!!

* A&M vs. Colorado Football game - November 1 *
Chris and I were given tickets to go to another Aggie football game in College Station! Hollis & Justin came with us and we had so much fun! We had the best seats in the house...2nd deck, 3rd row, 50 yard line! We felt like royalty!! haha! You know what made the day even better...the Aggies won! WHOOP!

We were so close, I was able to get this great picture...

* A&M vs. OU Football game - November 8 *
We got to attend many more Aggie football games this year than we had anticipated! Us and some friends drove to Houston and hung out with the Abshires & Miles' then went to College Station Saturday and the boys went to the football game while the girls "watched" the game at the Corner bar. It was such a fun weekend and was so nice to see everyone again. We don't get to see the Miles', Abshire's & Claunch's enough! :(

O ya, I almost forgot...Jason & Ryan dunked their OU rings...what good honorary Aggies!!

* Diesel's surgery - November 13 *
Yes...our poor puppy had to have surgery! He tore his ACL...I didn't even know dogs could do that! And now our 2 year old dog "puppy" has a metal plate & 6 screws in his knee!! He had been limping for a while now so we decided to get a few opinions about what to do and we were pretty much given 2 choices...let him keep limping and don't do the surgery and he will eventually become a 3-legged-dog OR...spend the big bucks and have the surgery and he will be good-to-go!??! It was not a hard decision for us...these dogs are like our children right now...we went ahead with the surgery! It has been hard keeping him from running, jumping, etc...he is a boxer! BUT...I think everything is going well...he is actually walking on it now..which is something he wasn't doing before the surgery!

How could you ever say "no" to this face!?

* Dallas with the Martin's - November 14 *
We realized the other day that we have done gone on a double-date with Ryan & Katie since high school. So...we went to eat and then went and walked around Victory Park in Dallas. We had SO much fun and it was nice getting out of the house and getting to hang out with some best friends! We are so happy to be back so we can see them more often!

* Spazmatics Concert - November 21 *

The Spazmatics came to Dallas! Us and the Hughes' went to dinner in Dallas at the most amazing restaurant and then went to the concert. (Again...another reason we are happy to be back...we have friends again!! haha) We had so much fun and it reminded me of how much fun we had while they were in College Station! They are a group from CS that do 80's music. They dress up and are hilarious! :) I am working on getting more pics from the concert from Lauren..

We got cold waiting on the valet to bring us the car....

* THANKSGIVING - November 27 *
We celebrated Turkey day this year at Chris' parents house. My mom, dad & brother all joined us with at the in-laws with Chris' cousins & Aunt & Uncle and some more family members. We had a wonderful meal and had a great time mingling. We then watched the Cowboys game and then the Aggie game....a day filled with food, fun, and football!! :) It was also a day that we were able to realize all that we have to be thankful for....this year has brought so many new things to our lives. Chris and I are so blessed that we have such amazing families that support us throughout everything, friends that we couldn't live without and a God that loves us through all of our ups & downs. Everything just seems to be falling into place for us! It is wonderful! :)

* Love & War in Texas - November 28 *
This last weekend, we joined the Hughes', Terndrup's, Martin's, my brother, Ryan's brother and his girlfriend and her friend at Love & War in Texas. They usually have a band play on Friday nights but they upon arriving, we found out that there was no band this time. We still had a very enjoyable time! These are the times that Chris and I really realize that we made the right decision by moving back home. We get to enjoy times like this with family & friends!

Well.....I think that pretty much sums up our lives in the last 3 months! :) I will work on updating this thing more often so future posts are not so extremely long!!

How exciting. You guys seem like you have been so busy. So I have some questions. Is Chris teaching at FM? Where in Flower Mound did you guys move? I am so jealous. I am excited to be moving back to Texas in June. We are moving to Austin though. I love your new blog style. Very cute. Miss you.
